Vibration Institute (www.vibinst.org) The Vibration Institute is a
not-for-profit organization dedicated to the exchange of practical vibration information on machines and structures. The scope of the Institute's activities also includes non-intrusive condition monitoring technologies. The
Institute, which was established in 1972, has more than 3,000 members, 37 chapters, and a technology
division -- the Society for Machinery Failure Prevention Technology (MFPT). The Institute's program consists of an Annual Meeting, short courses, and an internationally recognized certification program for assessing individual
